Consent
Your use of our Site signifies your consent to our collecting and using
personal information about you in accordance with this Policy. Should we
choose to change our Policy for any reason, the changes will be posted here,
so that you are always kept informed of how we collect and use your personal
information, and when we may disclose it. You should check this page periodically
to ensure you are happy with any changes.
Registration
We ask you to register with us so that we can provide you with the
best service we can. If you provide us with your name and email address
[and indicate that you would like to receive news from us] we will aim
to send you information on our strategy guides and their respective games
along with other information, which features on our Site. You do not have
to register to browse some areas of our Site but if you do you will be
given access to additional information and other parts of the Site. We
ask that you please make sure your details are correct and up-to-date
so that we can provide you with information efficiently and so that we
can fulfil our legal obligations to keep personal information accurate
and up-to-date.
How we collect information from you and how it is
used?
To a computer an email address is essentially just a set of numbers. Unless
you tell us what your email address is we won't know who you are. Whilst
we record these numbers when you visit our Site, we don't know who is
visiting. We do not match these numbers with any information you give
us if you register but there may be a time where we may try to identify
you from these numbers because we are required to do so by law or any
law enforcement agency or government body or so that we can protect our
services and other visitors to our Site. Some of the information we collect
and uses to which we put the information includes:
1. We will collect information about your tastes and preferences both
when you tell us what these are during the registration stage and by analysis
of customer traffic, including by using cookies (see below).
2. We or our affiliated companies may use personal information collected
about you to personalise your visits to our Site and recommend strategy
guides or other information or services to you, which you might find interesting.
We also use the information to help us develop the design and layout of
our Site to ensure that our Site is as useful and enjoyable as possible.
3. We may use personal information collected about you to let you know
about functionality changes to our Site or changes to our terms and conditions
of use including this Policy.
4. If you enter a competition or promotion we will ask for your name,
postal address and e-mail address. If you register to use our Ebook service,
we will ask for your name, post address and e-mail address and/or other
relevant personal information.
5. We may provide aggregated statistics about our services, sales, customers,
traffic patterns and other Site information to third parties such as business
partners, licensors or advertisers, but these statistics will not include
any information that could personally identify you.
6. With your agreement we will send you e-mail information on new products,
updates on existing titles and keep you posted on the development of the
Site.
Cookies
We use cookies on the Site. Cookies are small files of information,
which are stored on your computer. Web sites you visit ask your computer
to store this information and retrieve the information from your computer
so that they can keep track of things like other web sites you visit or
how you navigate the site. On revisiting our Site our computer server
will recognise the cookie, giving us information about your last visit.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but usually you can alter
the settings of your browser to prevent automatic acceptance. If you choose
not to receive cookies, you may still use most of the features of our
Site (but you may find that our Site may not function properly or is slower).
You might also have to keep entering registration information every time
you log on. It also means we would find it difficult to give you any other
information which you might be particularly interested in because we would
not be able to recognise that it was you visiting our Site.
How we look after your information
We make sure that all the information we hold on you is as safe as
possible.
When you register you will be given a password and/or other security information
("Security Information"). Do not disclose your Security Information
to anyone. You will be responsible for making sure that you keep your
Security Information safe and secret. However, if for any reason you would
like to change your Security Information or you think that the security
of your Security Information has been compromised, please notify us at
service@piggyback.com.
When do we give information you provide us to other
people?
Unless you permit us, we never give your information to anyone outside
Piggyback other than our affiliate web sites or the companies we use to
look after your information or to run our Site. Where we use other companies
to look after your information we ask them to make sure they keep your
information safe and confidential.
If you tick the box on our registration forms, which says we can give
your information to third parties, this will be people like business partners
and licensors. We are selective about the kinds of companies we would
give this information to and we ask them to make sure they keep your information
safe and confidential and only to use it for purposes consistent with
this Policy.
We may give advertisers anonymised information where you are not identified
such as how many people have clicked on their advertisements, what age
range those people are and whether they are male or female. This may also
include information about your particular interests, however they will
never know who you are. What we do is show you the advertisements of advertisers
you might be most interested in bearing in mind what we know about you
from your registration information and personal preferences. We never
give any individually identifiable information to the advertiser themselves
so they will never know about you.
Piggyback Interactive Limited reserves the right to access and disclose
individually identifiable information to comply with applicable laws and
lawful government requests, to operate its systems properly or to protect
itself or its users, in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective
legal proceedings; to establish, exercise or defend our legal rights (including
providing information to others for the purposes of fraud prevention and
reducing credit risk); and/or to a party acquiring all or a substantial
part of the assets or business of Piggyback.
Your rights
You may instruct us to provide you with any personal information we hold
about you. Provision of such information may be subject to the payment
of a fee (currently fixed at £10.00).
You may instruct us not to process your personal data for marketing purposes
by contacting us by email to service@piggyback.com at any time.
(In practice, you will usually either expressly agree in advance to our
use of your personal data for marketing purposes, or we will provide you
with an opportunity to opt-out of the use of your personal data for marketing
purposes.)
